If you have not heard of London based rock band, Goddass, then you should get to know them. Scoring a 3.75 out of 4.0 in their recent music review
with I AM Entertainment Magazine, these guys are some of the indie music scene's top rockers. And just like some of the most successful bands to ever
hit the international stage, these guys have that special something about them that just screams 'Worldwide Chart Toppers'.
Goddass' lead single, 'The Ages Come', is a beast of a song and in this exclusive interview, Goddass members -- Henry (lead vocalist), Al
(guitarist/singer), T (drummer) and Bruno (bassist) -- share some insight into their creative process and what's next for them.
IAE: Please tell us where you’re from and how the band was formed?
HENRY: We’re an international band! Ahah. Three of us come from Turin, Italy and I come from London, UK. The band has been around in one form or
another since 2004. Goddass rock band was born with brothers Al (guitarist) and T (drummer) at the front.
T: True, then our schoolmate and Bruno (bassist) followed us around. There were some changes in the line-up. The band then moved to London,
where we met Henry by chance a couple of years ago. He then joined us as lead singer.
IAE: You guys have a tremendous amount of talent. Who writes and produces your music?
BRUNO: Thanks for the compliment. Well, Al is the creative soul in the band, the one who first comes up with the main message behind each song. He
then shares this initial concept with the whole band. We bond very well as a band and you can feel this closeness when we play. We make the initial
concept become a song fans old and new can easily relate to.
AL: Yes, our producer Matt Hyde is also an important part of the whole creative process .He totally feels our sound, understands our personality as a
band and allowing us to remain strongly connected to our creativity.
IAE: Tell us about your EP, "The Ages Come," and what fans can expect to hear on it?
HENRY: The EP is a collection of 4 songs from the next album ‘Red Feeling’. You’ll be swept by the sound of tight guitar riff and a pulsating rhythm
section.
AL: “The Ages Come” is a modern ballad which does not lose the impact of our heaviest songs, something we had wanted to do for ages…
IAE: Will you be touring to promote the EP?
T: Indeed, we are planning to tour around Europe sometime next spring to promote our next album. We will also be performing in selected rock
venues around UK before going on tour.
BRUNO: We’ll go anywhere our fans are, if funds allow that is (laughing!). Our fan base is well spread and not only located in UK and Italy. A large number
of followers also live in Eastern Europe, even the US. We will then be trying to hook up live shows wherever we can to delight as many of them as possible.
IAE: With so many bands making music and using the internet to promote, how tough has it been to establish yourselves with music
fans?
AL: Well, we still think that the best way to connect with fans and gain new is to play great live shows delivering high quality music. The internet has
also become a vital tool in allowing the band to connect to old and new fans.
IAE: How have social media sites like Facebook and Twitter helped you gain a following?
HENRY: It has helped immensely. We believe social media is the best way to communicate with fans. We are very active on this front and we work hard at
regularly communicating with our fans on these platforms. The possibilities brought by social media are endless and we are committed to trying anything
that helps us take our music and its message to every corner of the world.
BRUNO: Yes, it’s not just about passing info but also a two-way communication process. We want fans to be part of our story, plans and even our
everyday life as a band. It’s interesting and encouraging to see that fans who follow us then go onto become our friends.
IAE: Where can fans purchase your music, and follow you on social media?
T: You can download the new EP for free from www.goddass.com as from 17 December. This is a gift for our fans in return for their continued
support. We have a large following of close to 64,000 fans on MySpace. We are trying to ‘move’ them onto Facebook. This is now our main social media
channel. So follow us (Like) on Facebook and check out the sound our new EP and the new video. Hope you like the sound of Goddass. Watch out, we
are here to stay and soon coming to get you! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all!
